A member of the paparazzi from Cannes Film Festival received both barrels from Denzel Washington after he appeared to tug at his suit jacket – a grilling which Diddy would likely tell you is not something you want to be on the end of.
The two-time Oscar winner was involved in a fiery exchange with the photographer on the red carpet yesterday (May 19), as he walked alongside co-stars of his latest movie Highest 2 Lowest.
The incident took place as the snapper leaned over the velvet rope to grab the attention of the 70-year-old, which angered the actor.
Then, when the New Yorker approached the man wagging his finger in his face while telling him never to do that again, the smiling photographer did so again.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman explained to the Mail Online what he believed Washington was saying.
Turning to the photographers, according to Freeman, Washington appeared to say: “Hey, one – one more time, stop.
“I’m talking to you, stop, all right.”
Freeman told the publication that the photographer appeared to reply to the actor by saying ‘not allowed’ before laughing and adding: “Yes, yes, yes.”
Seemingly unaware that Washington was being deadly serious, the snapper again grabs the Training Day actor asking him: “Can I take a picture?”
Washington seemingly tried to keep his temper in check, brushing off the grab and shouting back: “Stop, stop it, stop it. I mean it. Stop, stop it.”
Now, let’s hark back to the early 2000s, when Washington is claimed to have lost it with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs while on a night out with his wife.

A source close to Combs shared with US Weekly: “[Washington and his wife, Pauletta] had been partying until dawn [with Combs], and they had seen something and stormed out.”
But moments before The Equalizer actor rushed out of the nightclub, he allegedly gave the disgraced rapper a piece of his mind.
The insider told the publication: “Denzel screamed, ‘You don’t respect anyone’.”
UNILAD has previously reached out to Combs and Washington’s representatives for comment in relation to the incident.
Combs has been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – charges he’s continued to deny.
The indictment accuses Combs and others in his enterprise of ‘wield[ing] the power and prestige of Combs’ role at the Combs Business to intimidate, threaten and lure female victims into Combs’ orbit, often under the pretence of a romantic relationship’.
With the ‘assistance of members and associates’, the document claims Combs ‘transported commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally’ and ‘then used force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that Combs referred to as, among other things, ‘freak offs’.’

Denzel Washington ‘screamed’ four chilling words at Diddy during an argument at a party, according to one insider.
Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was arrested in Manhattan, New York last month and later charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
The rapper has denied all allegations made against him.
It was revealed on Tuesday (1 October) that a further 120 people have come forward accusing the rapper of sexual misconduct.
Allegations have reportedly come from both men and women ranging in age from nine to 38 at the time of the incidents.

Tony Buzbee, an attorney who is representing the accusers, said at a press conference: “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates.
“The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, that really wasn’t a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world. The wall of silence has now been broken.”
The lawyer went on to say the names of Diddy’s accomplices ‘will shock you’, adding: “The day will come when we will name names other than Sean Combs, and there’s a lot of names.”
Amid all the noise surrounding the allegations, a source who was friends with Diddy in the early 2000s has lifted the lid on an apparent argument between the rapper and Denzel Washington.
During an all-nighter, Washington apparently screamed, ‘You don’t respect anyone’.

The source added to US Weekly: “[Denzel and his wife, Pauletta] had been partying until dawn [with Diddy], and they had seen something and stormed out.”
UNILAD has reached out to Diddy and Washington’s representatives for comment.
Away from that, the lawsuits from the 120 accusers are set to be filed in the next 30 days, according to Buzbee.
“It’s a long list already, but because of the nature of this case, we are going to make damn sure, damn sure, that we’re right before we do that,” he added.
Amid the recent allegations, Combs’ attorney Erica Wolf told UNILAD: “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.
“That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.
“He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
Diddy has been denied bail twice as he awaits a trial date.

Denzel Washington losing it at autograph hunters has come out of left field.
The 69-year-old is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected, so to see him lose his rag is unnerving – he’s definitely not a man I’d like to cross, but I think we all knew that even before this heated exchange.

The incident happened on Wednesday evening (October 23), just as the two-time Oscar winner arrived on the red carpet of the film benefit in honor of Samuel L Jackson at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City.
Footage shows the Flight actor suddenly change direction while he was being papped and dart towards the autograph hunters while appearing to repeatedly say ‘yo’.
He then confronts them and gets into the face of one of the men.
Although audio on the video is not the clearest, he can be heard saying: “‘I heard you. You talk about showing love…”
While waving his finger in their faces before saying the words ‘respecting me’ – to which the timid fan replies ‘we already do’.
The interaction, which only lasted around 25 seconds, visibly shook the fan, who had the same expression that you have on your face when a teacher tells you off – but can you really blame him (I mean, have you seen The Equalizer trilogy)?
As the discussion went on, Washington said: “I said I’ll see you when I get out, which part of that don’t y’all understand?”
Before adding: “It’s about showing love.”
At which point he raises his voice, shouting at them: “Or not, or not! We can do it another way… or not, we can do it both ways!”
Annoyed, he marched back towards the venue.
When contacted by LADbible Group, Washington’s representatives explained he does not wish to comment.
It is not the first time the actor has been in the news recently for rowing with someone.
Earlier in the month, UNILAD reported how he got into an argument with Diddy in the early 2000s – it comes amid all the noise surrounding the rapper’s allegations.

It’s been five weeks since Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan and charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – charges of which he has pleaded not guilty.
Now, a source who was friends with Combs at the time has lifted the lid on the apparent argument between the 54-year-old and Washington.
During an all-nighter, Washington apparently screamed, ‘You don’t respect anyone’.
The source added to US Weekly: “[Denzel and his wife, Pauletta] had been partying until dawn [with Diddy], and they had seen something and stormed out.”

For anyone who has worked in any kind of profession, there’s a good chance you’ll have at once stage not seen eye-to-eye with one of your colleagues.
A 2022 survey found that, of those who took part, 90 percent said they had an ‘annoying’ coworker.
In fact, 57 percent of participants said that they found this particular person so annoying that they were considering quitting their current job, or that they’d left a previous role for this reason, CNBC reported.
And it seems as if Josh Brolin might have been that colleague for Denzel Washington when they worked together on Ridley Scott’s American Gangster, which hit theaters in 2007.
In comparison to Washington, Brolin, who is now a successful actor in his own right, was just an up-and-coming star at the time.
While fairly new on the scene, apparently Brolin had shot some great scenes with Russell Crowe – something which producer Brian Grazer had been raving about.
Washington is said to have ‘got wind’ of Grazer gushing about Crowe and Brolin, and it appeared to ruffle his feathers.
With this in mind, he had a some-what hostile attitude towards Brolin when they shot one particular scene together, and he didn’t take kindly to the budding star touching him.

Speaking on the In Depth with Graham Bensinger podcast, the Avengers villain explained: “Denzel was a little late to set and there was a whole thing there. And then he showed me the lines… he didn’t change any of my lines, but he kind of changed the structure of it.
“He said, ‘I think I’m gonna put this down here and I’m gonna put that up there.’ But he wouldn’t really look at me.”
Brolin went on to say that he was a bit starstruck to be working with Washington, so much so he forgot one of his lines.
“I put my hand on his shoulder and said, ‘What’s the line?’ and he hit my hand off and said ‘Don’t ever put your f***ing hand on me.’
“I was like, ‘Holy sh*t, I’m going to scrap with Denzel Washington.'”
But Brolin went on to say that, upon reflection, he thinks Washington might have just been in character at the time he made those remarks.
Whether it was Washington saying it himself or as his character Frank Lucas, it quickly became water under the bridge between the two actors as when Brolin saw him a year later, Washington greeted him with a hug.
Elsewhere the Thanos actor stated that he and the Gladiator II star ‘get along well’ now.
UNILAD have approached Washington’s rep for comment.

A decades-old video of Diddy has resurfaced following the rapper’s recent arrest.
Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was arrested in New York on Monday (September 16) and has since been slapped with a number of charges.
He’s now in custody and will remain so up until his trail after a judge rejected his two bail requests.
The rapper is being held at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn which has previously housed disgraced music star R. Kelly.

An unsealed indictment revealed that Diddy has been accused of having ‘abused, threatened, and coerced women and other around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct,’ along with using ’employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled’ to ‘attempt to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice’.
Several of the allegations in the indictment are linked to Diddy’s parties, which were known as ‘Freak Offs’.
He made reference to the nature of his parties on several occasions, including in a 2002 interview with Conan O’Brien which is currently doing the rounds online.
Asking what Diddy needed for a good party, he said ‘beautiful women’, ‘beautiful men for the ladies’, numerous types of alcohol, but also water as apparently ‘a lot of ladies drink water at parties’.
“If you don’t have what they need then they gon’ leave,” he added.
Diddy went on: “You got to keep’ em there. You need locks on the doors.”
The crowd laughed at his remarks, but O’Brien suggested that it was ‘sounding kind of dangerous now’.
The rapper admitted that it was ‘a little kinky’ before explaining that at his parties he doesn’t put the air conditioning on.
“Heat affects the alcohol,” Diddy claimed. “It also affects, like, everyone gets a little bit more comfortable and loose. [It] builds up a nice little sweat.”

While Diddy seemed quite confident that his theory made sense, O’Brien said that it actually sounded ‘disgusting’.
Following Diddy’s arrest, his lawyer Marc Agnifilo said: “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.
“He is an imperfect person but is not criminal.”
Diddy could face 15 years behind bars if found guilty of all the charges he’s facing.
He’s yet to have his trial date set.
